Thrift Stores in Kathmandu, Nepal

Kathmandu is where thrifting in Nepal went mainstream. Between the long-running secondhand racks around Thamel and Ason and the wave of Instagram curators posting drops out of Baneshwor, Koteshwor, Chabahil and Sinamangal, the valley now moves more preloved clothing than anywhere else in the country. The problem was never supply. It was that everything lived in stories that vanished in 24 hours.

Thriftverse puts Kathmandu’s independent thrift sellers into permanent, searchable storefronts. Browse what is in stock right now across the valley, check condition notes and measurements before you commit, and pay by eSewa or cash on delivery. Most Kathmandu orders arrive within a day or two through NCM.

There are currently 142 items from 4 verified sellers in and around Kathmandu. Sellers here list from Thamel, Baneshwor, Koteshwor, Kamaladi, Chabahil, Sinamangal, Boudha and Kalanki.

Thrifting in Kathmandu: common questions

Where can I thrift in Kathmandu?

Kathmandu’s best-known physical thrift racks sit around Thamel, Ason and New Road, but most of the curated selling now happens online out of Baneshwor, Koteshwor, Chabahil and Sinamangal. Thriftverse collects those sellers into one browsable marketplace.

How much does thrift clothing cost in Kathmandu?

Street-market pieces start around NPR 200-500. Curated thrift and vintage from Kathmandu sellers on Thriftverse typically runs NPR 500 to NPR 2,500, with branded or genuinely vintage items going higher.

How fast is delivery inside Kathmandu Valley?

Orders from Kathmandu Valley sellers usually reach Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur addresses in 1-2 days via NCM. You get a tracking code by email as soon as the seller drops the parcel.

Is thrift shopping in Kathmandu safe to do online?

On Thriftverse every seller store is reviewed before it is listed, payment runs through eSewa or cash on delivery rather than direct bank transfers, and every order is tracked end to end. Return windows vary by category and are published on the refund policy page.
